The Pixel Farm Appointments of Brett & Beaman To Expand Worldwide Sales

The Pixel Farm Ltd, a world-leading developer of image-processing systems for VFX, DI and restoration, has appointed former Avid and Autodesk sales manager Simon Brett as its new Operations Director, and Amy Beaman, from US reseller ALT Systems, as its new Account Manager for the US.

The new appointments follow 18 months of intensive product development, plus significant sales success for the company's PFClean and PFTrack software and systems. The new posts are designed to leverage further sales success worldwide, and have been made in advance of fresh product releases in the coming months.

As Operations Director of The Pixel Farm, Brett will oversee the day-to-day running of all commercial operations of the company, with a particular focus on global sales and marketing. A sales management professional, with over 20 years' experience in direct and channels-sales to VFX, post-production and broadcast markets, he was previously a senior sales manager at Avid in the UK, and territory manager with Autodesk. Prior to that Brett was managing director of successful UK reseller XTFX, which included The Pixel Farm's products amongst its portfolio. He also has significant experience of digital infrastructure and telecine/film technologies having held senior positions at Alpha Image/Dynatech Video Group, AVS Broadcast and Rank Cintel.

Beaman joins The Pixel Farm after a successful stint at US reseller ALT Systems, where she introduced PFClean to major customers including Sony Pictures Entertainment and Technicolor LA. Based in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area, she will cover the US market, selling to DI and restoration facilities, as well as other national organisations looking to restore and preserve their media archives. Prior to ALT Systems Beaman worked in sales and marketing for more than ten years in emerging technology industries.

"We had a great year in 2009, with 2010 shaping up to plan, and needed to bring in experienced people to capitalise on our continuing success, as well as to enhance our customers' experience," said Michael Lancaster, Managing Director at The Pixel Farm. "We are rolling out new products during 2010, with others in development. Simon and Amy possess all of the experience, knowledge and expertise to move the company ahead during what will be a busy and exciting phase."

Speaking about his appointment, Brett said, "The Pixel Farm is a well-respected brand with first class products deployed daily by professionals in VFX, DI and restoration around the world. From this strong foundation, it's now time to harness the teams endeavours and to underline the company as a market leader."

Beaman commented, "The Pixel Farm is a great company doing interesting and innovative work in the media and entertainment space. I'm especially intrigued by PFClean and how its underlying technology enables facilities to achieve phenomenal results, borne out by the recent major wins here in the US."

PFClean continues to be the market-leading image-restoration and remastering application. Recent sales include multiple license deals to Deluxe Vancouver; Technicolor Burbank and Sony Pictures Entertainment in L.A.; Ascent Media and Pinewood Studios in the UK; Belarus Film, Czech TV, Estonian Broadcast and Mosfilm.

The Pixel Farm recently shipped PFSilo, a collaborative workflow management system designed for use with PFClean, which enables teams of restoration artists to work on single or multiple feature film projects simultaneously.

New sales of The Pixel Farm's industry-leading PFTrack software for VFX creation include S&M, Cinesite and Dneg in London; Reliance Group in India and the US; Sony Imageworks in the US and India; Intelligent Creatures in Toronto; TV Globo in Brazil; and Animal Logic in Australia.
